A Few Quick Tips to Help You Pass the CISSP Certification Exam.
CISSP is one of the most elite and sought-after certifications in the information security industry. Almost everything which you would have heard it all about the CISSP exam which would be quite true: It is hard, terrifying and resource-intensive. But it wouldn’t be impossible to clear it!
Below mentioned are some quick tips for how to study for the CISSP exam in order to clear it on your first attempt.
Tip #1. What are CISSP and Prerequisite?:
As you would have the knowledge already, CISSP would stand for Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and it is the certification which would be created by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)2, in 1991. The CISSP certification is considered to be a way to demonstrate your knowledge and prove that you could establish and lead an information security program.
Tip #2. Indulge yourself with multiple study sources:
You would have to go through two or three CISSP all-in-one study guides. It would be best if you start with an official CISSP study guide. These guides are going to cover all the material in each domain. Plus, you are recommended to go through lots of CISSP practice tests online, which would be plenty of sample tests which you can do, so you should have the CISSP practice exams repeatedly. Even you go through the training which would be provided like the SPOTO.
Tip #3. Buddy up and get trained:
CISSP training courses, as well as the boot camps, are rather expensive but they are totally worth it. You would feel very lucky once you gain the boot camp the week prior to the exam, so you would have to study for the intensively from Monday to Friday and cleared your CISSP on Saturday. Even though the camp might be in Barcelona, with lots of distractions, which would help the candidates a lot. We would have great group discussions in which you could review the domains together and talk over the things that you did not understand. This kind of exam preparation is considered to be quite useful because you could take advice and guides from other people who would be about to take the exam, even over drinks while sitting in a bar.
Tip #4. Time Distribution and Estimation:
It might take you about two months so as to get ready. You have to review lots of CISSP books two to three hours a day every weekend. On weekdays, when you had spare time in the evening, you did the online test, taking them over and over again repeatedly until you could gain at least a 70% score.
Of course, your experience is very individual. I would advise you to go through the study guides and you would have to mark out both the areas you would be understanding and the ones which you are not going to familiar with. This would be helping you so as to predict when you would be ready enough to pass the CISSP exam.
As for splitting your time, a reasonable approach is going to spend 50% of your time on reviewing study guides and 50% on taking practice tests. If you could also work with peer groups, I would recommend that you should spend your times 40% on guides, 40% on tests and 20% on peer group discussions.
If you wish to have this certification, you should have to gain knowledge through SPOTO, which you would need to obtain the CISSP Certification. Also, obtaining the training through the SPOTO, would give you confidence, which would obtain through their 100% passing guarantee.
